What is Welfare?

Welfare:....... Something that aids or promotes well-being

This is the precise meaning of welfare when you take it in the context of the Royal Naval Association; it is there to promote the well-being of its members. This may come in the form of money, but more times than not is just a helping hand when one is needed. At the same time most acts of welfare happen without a formal request and are done by one shipmate for another.

This page therefore is intended to give advice on how you can help yourself or help your shipmate, but if that does not work or is not practical then we also give you information on who to contact for help and advice.

There is no stigma in asking for help or advice, it is required more in life today and especially when you are living in a country where the laws and procedures are different to your original abode. It is your well-being which is our aim.
